Preliminary Assessment

Availability of Service

San Gabriel Valley Water Company (“San Gabriel”) is a public utility regulated by the State of California Public Utilities Commission (the “CPUC”). San Gabriel provides water service to all properties within its service area boundaries. A customer may confirm San Gabriel’s service to a specific property by viewing the Los Angeles County or Fontana service area map. Alternatively, a customer may confirm water service availability with San Gabriel’s Engineering Department, located at 15966 Arrow Route, Fontana, California, upon completion of the Water Availability Request Form.

Larger projects may require the preparation of a preliminary water service plan, which will determine whether San Gabriel’s existing water facilities are adequate to serve the needs of the proposed development or if San Gabriel requires new facilities to be constructed to meet the demands of the proposed project. Larger projects may include, but are not limited to, industrial buildings having more than 100,000 square feet of floor area and residential developments of more than 100 dwelling units. In the latter case, the developer will be responsible for the full cost of the preliminary water service plan, if required by San Gabriel. Certain projects will require that San Gabriel complete a Water Supply Assessment in compliance with applicable regulations.
