Projects

In February of 2019, San Gabriel received a Proposition 1 planning grant from the State Water Resources Control Board to partially pay for a demonstration study to test the efficacy of new Ultraviolet Light (“UV”) treatment technology to remove 1,4-Dioxane and N- Nitrosodimethylamine. This demonstration study will be conducted at San Gabriel’s Plant B6 and includes the construction of transmission pipelines and installation of a Trojan UVFlex Modular unit (“UVFlex”) with the capacity to treat 3,900 gallons of water per minute. Trojan Technologies has designed UV treatment systems for more than 40 years. Their latest state-of-the-art offering is a cost- effective design that has lower operating and maintenance costs compared to Trojan’s existing and much older treatment system currently in use at Plant B6. This demonstration study is currently in the design phase and is anticipated to be completed by May 2021.
